Pony rides FAQs

Pony Rides and Farm Birthday Party

Do parents have to pay?

If you’re joining the kids for a party, then we don’t charge you. That wouldn’t seem fair. We just want you have a good time and the party is all about the kids.

What if I have a lot of people at my party? Are there enough horses to go around?

We have 10 different horses and enough Trevena Glen Farm guides to comfortably welcome up to 30 guests to a pony ride party, so there is a horse to suit every child. This will ensure that each child will at least get 15 minutes of horse-riding time.

Can I bring alcohol?
As much as we are hospitable country folk, Trevena Glen Farm isn’t a licensed venue so I’m afraid you won’t be able bring along a beer or wine. But, hey, there is plenty to keep you and your family busy.

Pony Rides with Tours

Do parents have to pay?

Unless you are riding as part of the 3hr tour, pony rides are restricted to children aged between 3 and 14 with a maximum weight of 60kg. Parents are welcome to walk around with the kids or take a break and relax under our big fig tree.

How old do the kids need to be?

Kids can enjoy pony rides from 3 years old and up to 14 years old.

Preparing for the visit

What do the kids wear?

Think of your time at Trevena Glen Farm like any other outdoor adventure. Good closed-in walking shoes, a hat and some sunscreen should do the job.

What are your safety measures?

Trevena Glen Farm is really focused on this being a great day out, so we make it our responsibility to keep you safe:

  • We give you the full run down on how to enjoy horses safely.
  • We kit you out with the right helmets and safe saddles.
  • A trained Trevena Glen Farm guide is by your side every moment of your visit.
  • We are registered and trained with a level 3 Equestion sports coach accreditation.

How do we get there?

You’ll find us 40 minutes north-west from central Brisbane at 1100 Winn Road, Mount Samson. The significant landmarks close to us are Mount Samson state primary school and Samsonvale Hall. Click here to see our map.

What access do you have for disabilities and parent facilities?

Yes, we are registered as a national disability insurance provider and have all amenities accessible for people with disabilities. We can support any person, no matter their disability, to enjoy a great day out with all our animals. The same can be said for mums and dads with very young children, with nappy changing facilities. If mums also prefer a private and comfortable place to breast feed just ask your Trevena Glen Farm guide who can point you in the right direction.

Other

Can I get our money back if it’s raining?

Yes, we always want you to have an amazing experience. Of course we also offer you the option to reschedule so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy Brisbane’s best animal farm experience. Refer to our refund policy for details.

Do you provide longer trail ride experiences?

Unfortunately not – we really only have approved access to about 20 acres which is not enough for a decent trail ride. Check out Slickers horse riding if you want a longer trail ride.
